You Are What You Wear Including Your Weaving Hair
When it comes to fashion, you cannot exclude your hair. You can be dressed from head to toe – nails done, hair done, eyebrows on fleek, and an outfit to die for, BUT—if your hair is a mess, nothing else really matters. This is why I say, you are what you wear including your weaving hair.
Let’s take a moment and reflect on women you see every day; family, friends, coworkers, even strangers. Now think back to what their hair looked like. You may have noticed a diva making a fashion statement, but the hair was a hot mess, or you may have seen someone trying to make the hair work, overshot and you just wanted to grab a pair of scissors and put them out of their misery.
You have to remember that you are what you wear, including your weaving hair. If you’re willing to spend $300-400 on a handbag or $250 on a pair of shoes, but you’re rocking a $50 4-piece bundle pack of hair, guess what? You will look a hot mess. Oh sure it will look nice for the first few days, and that’s not to say that inexpensive hair will not look nice, but think about this. Your $300 handbag is expected to last how long? Those shoes, how long? Now, why is it that women don’t take the same consideration when shopping for hair. They will throw on a synthetic lace front that’s shiny and fake as a Barbie dolls hair, right? They’re looking good from head to toe – well let’s say neck to toe because the hair is just screaming, HELP!
Ladies, if you want to get your head right and achieve the total look, you’ve got to check out the best kept secret in weaving hair. Yes, at first glance you may think, “This hair costs too much,” but wait… Remember those shoes and that handbag? They’re an investment and you plan on keeping them awhile. Well, this is the same way you should think when it comes to hair.
Did you know that top quality hair can be used over and over again? Hair does not have to be disposable, if you buy quality hair.
If you stop and think for a moment, how many times do you run to your local hair store looking for that human hair deal of a lifetime? Are you digging in that clearance box praying for something decent that is marked down, or do you opt for the all in one package that says “synthetic” or “Mastermix,” thinking, “This will last until I can get a better quality of hair. I just need something for right now?” Girl, those should be warning signs that equal, frizzy, tangles, shedding, and don’t even think about getting it wet.
We’ve all seen them walking around with that mop affect, and the big lump of a tangled mess right at the nape of the neck. You may have experienced it yourself. Don’t be fooled by what appears to be a deal at your local hair store. After all it costs too darn much to get it sewn in to have last a couple of weeks. Even if you’re doing it yourself, you are probably redoing it every 2-3 weeks.
If you want quality hair that will last months with proper care AND… you can take it out wash it and reuse it, that’s what a boss chick does. She doesn’t spend hours at the salon every 2-3 weeks or sitting on the bed at 12:01 am, when she has to work the next day because she had to take out the old matted piece of what some like to call a “weave.” No, what she does is pays a little extra for the good stuff, takes care of it like it was her own, and is able to wear it for a couple of months, minimum before doing a reinstall. And the best part is, she doesn’t have to go out and buy new hair because the old hair will snap back just like new.
